Some movies we just don’t get on the first viewing. Maybe we were too engrossed in working out the storyline, or we were simply not in the right mindset at the time. Well, for this topic, we are going to look at some movies worth rewatching in order to fully appreciate them.
The first entry is Shutter Island (2010). A neo-noir psychological thriller directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, this film didn’t receive the most glowing reviews and, indeed, on the first viewing it doesn’t quite click.
This could be because the whole story has to be seen first for all the previous steps leading up to the conclusion to fall into place. When you are not so concerned with working out or trying to guess what’s going on, you can finally feel the deep emotions behind the story.
We can’t say much more without giving away spoilers, but suffice it to say, give Shutter Island another chance, it may just click with you on the second viewing. And if you’ve never seen it before, give it watch anyway.
